Abstract

The queue of conveyance equipment is a significant issue that impacts productivity achievement because it affects the cycle time of conveyance equipment. This study aims to regulate the departure and arrival times of conveyance equipment to ensure smoother journeys without queues. The research location is at the DMP site of PT Cipta Kridatama in the special overburden transport area of Pit 4 West Sidewall. In actuality, the productivity of conveyance equipment in overburden stripping activities at PT Cipta Kridatama often does not meet the planned targets. This condition is caused by the existence of large queues of conveyance equipment. Based on the problems that occur, this study uses a queue method to regulate and manage queue times on conveyance equipment so that the productivity of conveyance equipment is achieved according to the company's targets. The analysis results show that the average actual cycle time of the CAT 395 Excavator is 26.57 seconds with a productivity of 584.18 BCM/Hour, while the average of the two types of OHT CAT 773E and OHT CAT 775F is 1021.90 seconds (17.03 minutes) with an actual productivity of 44.91 BCM/hour. The actual productivity results do not meet the company's target of 51 BCM/hour. The failure to achieve productivity is caused by the large queue of transport equipment at the front loading. Calculations based on the queue method by applying simulations of departure and arrival of transport equipment produce an optimal cycle time of 15.20 minutes and an optimal number of transport equipment of 7 units. The results of this application obtained a productivity result of 61.43 BCM/hour. This study shows that proper scheduling can reduce queue time so that productivity can be achieved according to the company's target.
