Abstract
Monoethanolamine is an organic compound that is commonly used for CO2 gas
absorption, detergent manufacturing, and anti-rust materials. The factory is planned
to be established in Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province with an area of
87,000 m2
. Monoethanolamine is produced by reacting ammonia and ethylene
oxide in the liquid phase, in a multitube fixed bed reactor. The reaction that occurs
is an exothermic reaction that requires a refrigerant to maintain the temperature.
The main product is 99% monoethanolamine as much as 11,000 tons/year with byproducts in the form of diethanolamine as much as 272 tons/year and
triethanolamine as much as 94 tons/year. The raw materials used are ammonia as
much as 3,657,706 kg/hour and ethylene oxide as much as 7,514 tons/year. The
water requirement for utilities is 1.020.786,220 kg/hour, the electricity requirement
is 2,144,739 kW and the steam requirement is 18,108.82 kg/hour. From the
economic analysis, FCI was obtained of Rp.350,851,613,494 and working capital
of Rp. 61,914,990,617 assuming that this factory is low risk, then the RoI is
obtained 15.125%. Based on the economic evaluation data, the monoethanolamine
factory is feasible to be established
