Abstract
The decline in agricultural production is attributed to the widespread conversion of farmland into industrial zones, which has reduced the amount of fertile land available for crop cultivation. One such innovation is the adoption of modern agricultural practices, such as hydroponics. The key to success in hydroponic lettuce cultivation to achieve optimal yields lies in selecting the appropriate variety suited to the environmental temperature. The addition of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) supports lettuce plant growth and helps prevent disease outbreaks during vertical hydroponic lettuce cultivation. The research method used was a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, each with 3 replicates and 9 treatment combinations, resulting in a total of 27 experimental units. The data analysis method used was Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with a 95% confidence level for single factors and treatment interactions. The results of the study showed no significant effect of the interaction between PGPR dosage and lettuce variety. The single factor of PGPR dosage had no significant effect on lettuce yield. The single factor of lettuce variety had a highly significant effect on lettuce yield. The Caipira variety yielded the best results for the research variables of fresh weight, shoot weight, root weight, canopy area, number of leaves, and shoot/root ratio.
