Abstract
This research is motivated by the low speaking ability of students in procedural text
materials in Vocational High Schools (SMK), especially in the Culinary expertise
competency. This problem is caused by the limited learning media that are
innovative and contextual to the students' areas of expertise. This research aims to
develop Recipetalk learning media and determine its feasibility and effectiveness in
teaching speaking ability in procedural text materials for grade XI Culinary
students of SMK. This research aims to develop Recipetalk learning media that is
suitable for use in teaching speaking ability in procedural texts for grade XI
Culinary students in Vocational High Schools. This research uses the Research and
Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes
analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research
subjects include media experts, content experts, Indonesian language teachers, and
grade XI Culinary students. Data collection techniques include interviews,
questionnaires, and documentation. Data are analyzed descriptively using
quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the study indicate that
Recipetalk learning media is considered very suitable for use based on validation
by media experts, language experts, content experts, and practitioners. The trial
results show that the use of Recipetalk media can develop students' speaking skills
in procedural texts.
