KJTV Sebagai Saluran Televisi Lokal Jember 2012-2024

Abstract

The research discussed the history and development of a local-television station in Jember, East Java. A cable television-based television station named KJTV is located in the center of Jember, accommodating television broadcasts in the realm of information delivery, educational facilities, cultural preservation, and television entertainment broadcasts in general. The study entitled "KJTV as a local-television in Jember in 2012-2024" from PT KLOJEN is a milestone in new historical research in Jember because it was the first time it was discussed in Jember, this makes the focus of historical research even more varied. This study uses an organizational sociology approach that will examine how a local television company, which is also an organization, operates in its main functional duties. Then the theory used is the structural functional theory according to Robert K. Merton which will examine the functions of the establishment of a local television station, functions which include: manifest functions (intentional), latent functions (unintentional), and dysfunction, will be a narrowing of the discussion in the study. The scope that will be used will be in Jember Regency in 2012 to 2024. From all that has been collected, it will provide a direction for discussing the formulation of the problem, including: 1) The history of the establishment of KJTV as a local television in 2012, 2) The dynamics of KJTV from 2012 to 2024, 3) The impact of KJTV on the Jember locality.
