Oil wells that have undergone significant reservoir pressure depletion often lose their ability to produce fluids naturally. In such cases, artificial lift methods must be applied to enhance production, one of which is the Electric Submersible Pump (ESP). The effectiveness of an ESP system largely depends on design parameters such as pump setting depth (PSD), number of pump stages, operating frequency, and the amount of free gas entering the pump. This study aims to evaluate and design an optimal ESP system for well X in “Y” Field by considering these operational parameters. The study begins with an evaluation of natural flow performance using Nodal Analysis and the Pudjo Sukarno method to generate the Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR) curve. The analysis reveals an Absolute Open Flow Potential (AOFP) of 18087 BFPD, with actual production only at 2671 BFPD. Consequently, the target production rate is set at 70% AOFP, or 12661 BFPD. Further design and optimization of ESP are carried out with variations in frequency, number of stages, and gas percentage, followed by simulation and validation using Pipesim software. The optimal design is achieved at a frequency of 60 Hz and 214 stages, with a Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of 7274 ft and pump efficiency of 76%. The initial free gas content of 12% is successfully reduced to 1% with the use of a Rotary Gas Separator (RGS) operating at 95% efficiency. The Turpin parameter (Φ) value of 0.512
