Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of providing food supplies for group A children at the Islamic Kids House Buah Hati Kita. The guardians of group A students at the institution are mostly women with working status. Therefore, working mothers must be smart in managing their time so that they can still provide food supplies for their children. This needs to be done because there is no canteen provided at the Islamic Kids House Buah Hati Kita and so that children's nutritional needs are still met. Given the still high rate of stunting and the rampant diabetes and kidney failure that many children suffer from in Indonesia and the main cause is the food consumed. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were children in group A5 of the Islamic Kids House Buah Hati Kita. Research on the provision of food supplies for group A5 children was seen based on the mother's work hours, namely the morning shift and the afternoon/night shift. The results of the study showed that the food supplies for children whose mothers worked the morning shift were on average self-cooked food, with healthy food content, neatly arranged in a lunch box and attractively decorated. The food supplies for children whose mothers work day/night shifts are food that is cooked by themselves and sometimes also bought, with the content of food that is considered healthy although there are often those who bring snacks. There is no creativity in the presentation, the food is only neatly arranged in a lunch box, but sometimes there are those who are only placed in a plastic bag or school bag. Children in group A5, both those whose mothers work morning shifts and day/night shifts, have high enthusiasm when brought food supplies.
