Abstract

Rembangan is a tourist destination in Jember Regency with a cool mountain atmosphere and beautiful panorama. This area relies on a water source 3 km away, which is distributed through pipes. However, water supply is often problematic, especially during the dry season and the risk of pipe leaks. Therefore, research on the potential of aquifers is needed to support the availability of clean water and maintain tourist comfort. Lithological conditions and the presence of aquifers can be determined using the Wenner-Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method. This method works by flowing electric current into the ground through electrodes, then measuring the potential difference. In this study, data collection was carried out on three tracks with a length of 100–150 meters. The data obtained were processed using Microsoft Excel and Res2dinv software to produce a 2D resistivity model, then interpreted to determine the subsurface structure of Rembangan Tourism. The results of geoelectric measurements on track 1 showed a resistivity value of 6.47–186 Ωm, with an indication of an aquifer at a depth of 5.25–13.0 meters. Line 2 has a resistivity of 2.70–129 Ωm with an aquifer depth of 6.00–20.0 meters, while line 3 ranges from 4.85–121 Ωm at a depth of 10.2–19.9 meters. The three lines indicate the presence of shallow groundwater with a depth of less than 40 meters. . The lithology of trajectories 1, 2, and 3 shows the dominance of slightly dense pyroclastic layers that are able to store limited water as flow paths, as well as low-porosity breccia layers that are difficult for water to penetrate. The lush vegetation around the lines also strengthens the indication of the presence of groundwater. Based on the interpretation of 2D resistivity and field observations, the three lines are recommended as potential areas for the development of groundwater sources to support water needs in Rembangan Tourism.
