This study aims to describe the use of TikTok as a learning media by teachers and students in history lessons, to inventory teachers' strategies to increase student engagement, and to analyse the influence of TikTok use and teachers' strategies on student engagement at SMAN 1 Jember. This study employs a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Qualitative data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, while quantitative data were collected using questionnaires measuring students' TikTok use, teachers' strategies, and student engagement. Quantitative data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression tests. The results indicate that TikTok is utilised as a medium for delivering material, a learning resource, a discussion tool, and a platform for students to create historical content. The use of TikTok can create more interactive, contextual, and student-centred learning, thus supporting cognitive, behavioural, and emotional engagement. Teachers' strategies in enhancing student engagement are carried out systematically through aspects of teacher planning, learning communities and student motivation, classroom management, as well as assessment and evaluation. Quantitative analysis results show that students' use of TikTok and teachers' strategies simultaneously have a significant effect on student engagement, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and an F-value of 94.847. The multiple correlation coefficient (R) of 0.858 indicates a strong relationship, while the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.736 indicates that 73.6% of the variation in student engagement can be explained by students' use of TikTok and teachers' strategies together. Teachers' strategies have a more dominant influence (β = 0.781) compared to students' use of TikTok (β = 0.214). This finding indicates that the increase in student engagement in history learning is influenced not only by the use of TikTok as a learning medium, but also by the teacher's ability to effectively integrate technology, pedagogy, and learning content.
