Industri Rumah Tangga Batik Bambu Mujur di Desa Sumbermujur Kecamatan Candipuro Kabupaten Lumajang Tahun 2011-2024

Abstract

This study briefly but in-depth discusses the Batik Bambu Mujur Industry, a homebased batik craft industry located in Sumbermujur Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency, East Java, at the foot of Mount Semeru. Batik Bambu Mujur exemplifies the creativity of local communities in cultivating regional potential through art and culture, particularly batik with its distinctive use of bamboo. This study focuses on the background of the business's establishment and the dynamics of its development from 2011 to 2024. The existence of Batik Bambu Mujur not only encourages the creative economy but also plays a role in preserving local culture that is slowly being eroded by modernization. Community involvement is evident throughout the production process, from material preparation and coloring to marketing, enabling this industry to directly empower the community. In addition to increasing income, these activities also foster a sense of ownership of cultural heritage. The innovation of bamboo batik produces products that are different from conventional batik and are worthy of appreciation.
