Peran BUMDes Dalam Pengelolaan Pasar Sore Dawuhan Mangli di Kecamatan Sukowono Kabupaten Jember

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Dawuhan Mangli in managing Pasar Sore Dawuhan Mangli in Sukowono District, Jember Regency. The establishment of village markets is essential to support local economic activities; however, unorganized market conditions often lead to issues such as disorder, lack of cleanliness, and ineffective management. Therefore, proper market management is needed to ensure sustainability and community welfare. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving village officials, BUMDes management, market managers, and traders. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that BUMDes has carried out its role in market management through three main aspects: market retribution collection, operational supervision, and market fund distribution. The retribution system is implemented routinely with a flexible mechanism based on daily market conditions and is accepted by traders. Operational supervision is conducted through coordination between the BUMDes director and market managers to maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and security. Market funds are allocated for operational needs such as electricity, water, sanitation, and security, as well as for supporting community and religious activities. In conclusion, BUMDes plays an integrated role in managing village market operations and contributes significantly to local socio-economic development.
