| dc.description.abstract | Physics learning often faces challenges in conveying abstract concepts, particularly regarding temperature and heat material. Students frequently encounter difficulties in understanding the principles of heat transfer and often consider temperature and heat as identical concepts. Furthermore, limited innovation and the dominance of PowerPoint use in the learning process contribute to students' low interest and learning motivation. To overcome these obstacles, more interactive and innovative learning media are needed. This research aims to describe the design of interactive learning media based on Google Sites with a contextual approach to temperature and heat material, as well as to describe student responses to the developed media. This study utilized a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The research procedure encompassed preparation, determining locations, teacher interviews, literature review, media design, expert judgment validation, user response questionnaires, and drawing conclusions. The media was designed responsively with a modern minimalist interface using Canva , presenting physics concepts contextually through realistic photographs of daily phenomena without using animation elements. Validation was conducted by experts (one Physics Education lecturers at Universitas Jember) and users (two high school physics teachers). Meanwhile, user responses were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 32 tenth-grade students at SMAN 2 Situbondo. The validation results from experts and users showed that the media design achieved a validity percentage of 88% with highly valid criteria. Student responses to the learning media also demonstrated a very positive outcome, with an overall average score of 86.46%, which falls into the excellent category. Specifically, students gave highly positive evaluations regarding visual appeal, ease of navigation, language clarity, and website accessibility. In conclusion, the design of the interactive learning media based on Google Sites with a contextual approach is highly valid theoretically and rated excellently by users, making it suitable to be implemented as an engaging alternative learning resource that facilitates independent learning. | |
