| dc.description.abstract | Heavy equipment productivity plays a crucial role in mining operations. Excavating and hauling equipment are the primary machinery used to transport materials from the mining front to the stockpile. The working efficiency of these two types of equipment heavily determines the overall productivity of the mining operations. This study analyzes the productivity of the secondary hauling line at the Weda Bay Project as a representative case of a nickel mine with a multi-layered transport chain system. Furthermore, it aims to provide a practical contribution to optimizing the operations of mining contractors such as PT X by improving work efficiency and reducing operational costs in a dynamic operating environment. Data was utilized to analyze and calculate the productivity of the excavating and hauling equipment. The data analysis was based on guidelines prepared within the research design and conducted in accordance with previously processed data. Operational obstacles in the field were also analyzed when calculating the performance of both the excavating and hauling equipment. The results showed an improvement in the productivity of the PC-300 excavator, which increased from an initial 168.9 BCM/JAM to 242.35 BCM/JAM after optimization; this figure represents a 43.48% increase compared to the productivity before improvement. Similarly, the productivity of the Hino 500 haul truck improved from an initial 3.06 BCM/JAM to 4.4 BCM/JAM after optimization, which means the figure increased by 43.79% from the initial pre-optimization baseline. | |
