Analisis Nilai Tambah dan Kelayakan Usaha Pengolahan Minyak Maggot BSF (Black Soldier Flyer)

Abstract

Maggot BSF can reduce organic waste and has high nutritional content, such as protein (30-45%) and fat (29-32%). Tirta Bakti II farmer group has a BSF Maggot cultivation activity of around 1-2 quintals per week. Maggot product development is still limited to selling fresh/dried Maggot, liquid fertilizer, and animal feed. Meanwhile, Maggot has the development potential, because has high fat content to be extracted as a cat supplement, and additional animal feed. So it is necessary to conduct research related to the added value of BSF maggot oil processors and their business feasibility. The purpose of this research was to determine the unit yield of the BSF maggot oil processing, amount of added value, and the feasibility of the business from a technical and financial perspective. The processing of maggot oil mechanically using a screw press machine produces a yield of 9.01% where this value is not high due to the simple process and uses 100% BSF maggot without mixture. Technically, maggot oil processing is declared feasible because raw materials, production capacity, workers, technology, machinery, and equipment and utilities can synchronize with each other in forming a business on a home industry scale. In the financial aspect with a profit of 32% and a selling price of IDR 45,000 with the assumptions that have been designed, this business only makes a profit in the 2nd year with a BEP unit value of 2251, BEP Price of IDR101.301.935, RC Ratio 1.31>1, NPV IDR26.02.790, and IRR of 29%. this business is sensitive to a decrease in sales of 21% and seinsitive to an increase in raw materials by 50%. The value-added ratio of making BSF maggot oil is 52% and the profit earned by the company is 28%. The added value is high so that this business can be realized and sustainable.
