Abstract
Climate change has become a major challenge affecting environmental sustainability and food security in Vietnam, particularly in the Mekong Delta. Rising sea levels, saltwater intrusion, changing rainfall patterns, and upstream dam construction have threatened ecosystems and local livelihoods. This study analyzes Vietnam’s use of Green Diplomacy in addressing climate change challenges in the Mekong River region. Using a descriptive qualitative method and secondary data. The study applies Lee-Anne Broadhead’s Green Diplomacy framework. The findings indicate that Vietnam actively joins the establishment of international frameworks, the use of environmental issues as a diplomatic tool, and green
technology and knowledge transfer. Thus, Green Diplomacy has become an important strategy for Vietnam in enhancing climate resilience and supporting sustainable development in the Mekong River region.
