Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the entertainment industry, particularly cinemas, to provide services that are easily accessible and oriented toward user experience. Mopic Cinemas, as one of the cinema chains in Indonesia, currently offers online ticket purchasing services through its website. However, based on initial observations and interviews, several issues were identified, such as a user interface that is not optimized for mobile devices, a confusing booking flow, and delays in payment confirmation that negatively affect user satisfaction. Therefore, this study aims to design the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) of a mobile-based Mopic Cinemas application using the Design Thinking method.The Design Thinking method applied in this study consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. During the empathize and define stages, data were collected through observation and interviews to identify user needs and problems. The ideate stage produced design solutions that were implemented in the form of wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity prototypes using the Figma tool. Furthermore, the prototype was evaluated in the test stage through usability testing involving three respondents and focusing on three UX attributes: effectiveness, time-based efficiency, and satisfaction. The testing results show that all respondents successfully completed all assigned tasks, indicating that the effectiveness value reached the very effective category. The obtained time-based efficiency (TBE) value indicates that task completion time falls into the very fast category based on time behavior indicators. In addition, the System Usability Scale (SUS) evaluation achieved an average score of 79.17, which falls within the acceptability range of “acceptable high,” a grade scale of “C,” and an adjective rating of “excellent.” Based on these results, it can be concluded that the proposed mobile UI/UX design for the Mopic Cinemas application is capable of improving effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
