Upaya Guru Kelas 1 dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik melalui Budaya Positif di SDN 2 Sarimulyo Banyuwangi

Abstract

Learning motivation is an important aspect in supporting students’ involvement in the learning process. This study ains to describe the efforts of first-grade teachers in improving students’ learning motivation through positive culture at SDN 2 Sarimulyo Banyuwangi and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources consisted of the first-grade teacher, principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was tested using source, technique, and time triangulation. The results showed that teachers improved students’ learning motivation through learning strategies, motivation provision, positive classroom management, strengthening positive culture, and personal approaches to students. These efforts were supported by parental involvement, support from the principal, cooperation among school members, a comfortable learning environment, and interesting learning methods and media. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included inconsistent positive habits at home, outside environmental influences, differences in students’ characteristics and abilities, and the readiness of some school members to adapt to changes. The study concludes that improving learning motivation through positive culture requires consistent teacher efforts in creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable learning environment that encourages students to actively participate in learning.
