Investigating Speaking Difficulties Encountered by the EFL Undergraduate Students of the English Department Program

Abstract

Speaking is a crucial skill for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, particularly for students of English Education Programs who are expected to master oral communication for academic and professional purposes. However, despite years of formal instruction, many EFL undergraduate students still face serious challenges in speaking English fluently and confidently. This research investigates the specific speaking difficulties encountered by undergraduate students of the English Department Program at the University of Jember.
