| dc.description.abstract | The generation of plastic waste in Jember Regency is still relatively high. According to SIPSN data from 2024, plastic waste in Jember Regency accounts for 30%. Plastic waste that is not properly processed will degrade into small particles commonly known as microplastics. Microplastics are plastic particles smaller than 5 mm. This research was conducted at D.I. Krajan 1, located in the Patrang sub-district. D.I. Krajan 1 itself irrigates approximately 21 hectares of rice fields. The number of samples taken in this study was 7 points, consisting of water and sediment samples. The stages of this research include literature study, sampling, Wet Sieving, Transfer Sieved Solids, Wet Peroxide Oxidation, Density Separation, Microplastic Identification, and FTIR testing. The abundance of microplastics in water samples was 817 particles/L and in sediment samples was 7,540 particles/Kg. The most commonly found microplastic shape was fiber, with 516 particles/L in water samples and 508 Particles/kg in sediment samples. Shape characteristics found in water and sediment samples. The most common color found in microplastics is black, with 370 particles/L and 315 particles/kg in sediment samples. The size of microplastics found in water and sediment samples is mostly 0.1-0.5 mm. The types of polymers identified in the sediment samples are PP , PE, PS, and PVC. . The relationship between temperature and pH in water samples can be concluded to be significant because the P-value from the Poisson regression is below 0.05. The relationship between temperature and pH in sediment samples can be concluded to be not significant because the P-value is greater than 0.05. Negative binomial regression was chosen for sediment samples because the AIC value was smaller compared to Poisson regression, which was 108.0048. | |
