Abstract
The ability of elementary school students to express their experiences through poetry remains relatively low. Students often experience difficulties in generating ideas, have limited vocabulary, and show low participation because the instructional media used are generally conventional and less engaging. Therefore, innovative and interactive learning media appropriate for elementary school students are needed. This study aimed to develop the Monopoli Fantasi learning media and determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in Indonesian language learning on expressing experiences through poetry. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall development model implemented up to the eighth stage. It was conducted at SDN Antirogo 02 Jember with 26 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, expert validation, student response questionnaires, learning achievement tests, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis, including the Valpro formula, student response percentages, and learning mastery percentages. The results showed that the Monopoli Fantasi learning media achieved a validity score of 86.9% (highly valid), a practicality score of 82.5% (highly practical), and an effectiveness score of 84.6%, indicating that most students achieved the minimum learning mastery criterion. Therefore, the Monopoli Fantasi learning media is considered valid, practical, and effective as an alternative instructional medium for helping fourth-grade elementary school students express their experiences through poetry.
