Analisis Proses Suksesi Perusahaan Keluarga(Studi pada PT. Fajero Karya Jaya)

Abstract

Family businesses play a significant role in economic development; however, many face challenges in maintaining business continuity across generations. One of the most critical factors influencing the sustainability of a family business is the succession process. This study aims to analyze the succession process in PT. Fajero Karya Jaya, a family-owned company operating in the mechanical and electrical services sector. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The key informants consisted of the Director as the successor, the Commissioner as a family representative of the founder, and a senior employee who understood the dynamics of the company. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data were analyzed using domain analysis and taxonomic analysis. The findings revealed that the succession process at PT. Fajero Karya Jaya consisted of five stages: successor preparation, successor selection, successor development, successor involvement, and post-succession evaluation. Successor preparation was carried out through gradual involvement in company activities. The successor selection process was based on the ACE MAN criteria, including acceptable, charismatic, energetic, managing, achieving, and networking characteristics. Successor development was conducted through direct work experience, mentoring, and continuous learning. Successor involvement included operational, administrative, and strategic decision-making activities. The postsuccession evaluation indicated that the company successfully maintained business continuity while implementing organizational improvements and service diversification. In conclusion, the succession process at PT. Fajero Karya Jaya has been successfully implemented and has contributed positively to the sustainability and development of the family business.
