Hubungan Antara Peran Orang Tua dengan Hasil Belajar IPA pada Peserta Didik Kelas V di SDN Dukuh Dempok 01

Abstract

Learning outcomes are achievements obtained by students after going through the learning process about a certain material in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor realms that reflect the abilities and skills of each student. The achievement of student learning outcomes at school can be influenced by several factors, one of which is the family environment factor which includes the role of parents. The role of parents in supporting children's education can be in the form of parents as motivators, facilitators, mediators, role models, partners, and supervisors. This study aims to find out whether there is a relationship between the role of parents and science learning outcomes in grade V students at SDN Dukuh Dempok 01. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the role of parents and learning outcomes science in grade V students at SDN Dukuh Dempok 01 with the results of the calculation of the correlation coefficient analysis are rxy > rtable (0.498 > 0.312) and a significance value of 0.001 is obtained which is less than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05) and the results of the determination coefficient analysis calculation of 24.82% which shows a relationship in the low category. The results of the product moment correlation analysis show a positive and significant value, although the results of the determination coefficient analysis indicate a relatively low value. This is related to the role of parents who cannot stand alone in supporting their children's education, but require collaboration between parents, teachers, and the school. Furthermore, based on previous research, it is explained that the role of parents in their children's education is more closely related to the formation of the child's personality, which pertains to how parents can nurture their child's motivation and interest in learning.
