Abstract

This study aims to identify subsurface structures at the Duplang Site, Kamal Village, Arjasa District, Jember Regency, using the Wenner–Schlumberger electrical resistivity method. Data were collected along five survey lines and processed using Res2Dinv for 2D modeling and Voxler for 3D visualization. The results show resistivity values ranging from 2.65 Ωm to 290 Ωm, indicating variations in subsurface lithology. The shallow layer is dominated by clay or water-saturated soil with low resistivity, followed by sand and gravel in the intermediate layer, and weathered to hard rock at depths of approximately 2–3 meters. High resistivity values are interpreted as andesite based on their resistivity characteristics, which may be associated with buried archaeological remains. Overall, the subsurface structure is layered and relatively complex, influenced by sedimentation processes and past volcanic activity, demonstrating that the resistivity method is effective for subsurface characterization in the study area.
