Peningkatan Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi untuk Siswa Kelas VIII B SMPN 3 Jember Melalui Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Berbantuan Media Pembelajaran Obstur

Abstract

The writing skills of observation report texts of class VIII B students are still relatively low, which is indicated by student learning outcomes that have not reached the KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria). Based on the results of student writing in the pre-cycle, the problems found include students' inability to write observation report texts in accordance with the text structure, linguistic rules, and completeness of the content. In addition, based on the results of observations, the learning process still often uses lecture methods, textbooks alone without any learning media. Therefore, to overcome these problems, the Project Based Learning learning model was implemented with the help of Obstur learning media as an effort to improve students' writing skills. This research is a type of classroom action research with the Kurt Lewin model. The research was conducted through four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection carried out in each cycle. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the application of the PjBL learning model assisted by Obstur learning media can improve students' LHO text writing skills. The average score of students in the pre-cycle stage was 69,93 with a total of 11 students completing the course. In cycle I, the average score increased to 77,57, with 23 students completing the program. Furthermore, in cycle II, the average score increased to 88,18, with 31 students completing the program.
