Gambaran Kejadian Kecelakaan Kerja dan Unsafe Action pada Pekerja Industri Kayu Lapis di PT. X Kabupaten Banyuwangi

Abstract

The plywood industry is one of the forestry sectors whose production processes involve machines, equipment, raw materials, and human labor that are at risk of work accidents. Work accidents are unexpected events that can occur in the work environment. One factor that causes frequent work accidents was unsafe acts. Unsafe acts are risky behaviors that can be carried out consciously or unconsciously by workers. This study aims to describe the occurrence of work accidents and the level of unsafe actions of workers at PT. X, Banyuwangi Regency. This study was a descriptive study using a retrospective approach with a sample of 197 workers. Data analysis shows that the majority of workers are male with the majority of high school graduates/equivalent, with an age range of 18-40 years. The most accident incidents were found in the veneer and repairing, grading, rotary, and putty sections with the most incidents being scratches, being crushed, falling and being stabbed. Meanwhile, the level of unsafe actions shows that workers' actions are categorized as low. Low unsafe action conditions don't guarantee that workers avoid work accidents. The role of nurses and K3 management at PT. X will certainly be crucial in ensuring the supervision and knowledge level of workers, thereby ensuring their safety. Furthermore, workers are also expected to be responsible for maintaining their own health and safety, as well as that of their environment.
