| dc.description.abstract | Food is a primary human need, with plants serving as the main source of carbohydrates as well as alternative food resources. The Samin community in Bojonegoro and Blora Regencies continues to utilize various plant species as daily food resources, reflecting local wisdom in fulfilling food needs. This study aimed to identify food plant species utilized by the Samin community, determine the plant parts used, describe their utilization methods, and assess their level of use through the Use Value (UV) index. Furthermore, the research findings were used as the basis for developing a scientific poster. This study employed a descriptive exploratory method using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Samples were selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 16 respondents in Jepang Hamlet, Margomulyo Village, Bojonegoro Regency, and Blimbing Hamlet, Sambongrejo Village, Blora Regency. Data were analyzed using the Use Value (UV) index. The results revealed 38 food plant species belonging to 21 families. The species with the highest UV values were rice (Oryza sativa L.) (1.00), maize (Zea mays L.) (0.93), cassava (Manihot esculenta) (0.87), sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) (0.68), banana (Musa paradisiaca) (0.62), purple yam (Dioscorea alata) (0.56), lesser yam (Dioscorea esculenta) (0.50), chili pepper (Capsicum sp.) (0.50), peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) (0.43), and spinach (Amaranthus sp.) (0.43). The utilized plant parts included seeds, tubers, leaves, fruits, and rhizomes, which were processed as staple foods, alternative foods, vegetables, and spices. The developed scientific poster was categorized as feasible to highly feasible based on validation results from experts and users. This study demonstrates that the Samin community possesses rich local knowledge regarding food plant utilization, which is important to document and preserve through educational media such as scientific posters. | |
