Pengaruh Permainan Hunt the Treasure terhadap Perkembangan Motorik Halus Anak Kelompok B di TK ABA II Sumbersari Jember

Abstract

Fine motor development is one of the important aspects that needs to be fostered in children aged 5–6 years, as it plays a significant role in supporting their readiness for future learning. However, observations conducted in Group B of ABA II Kindergarten, Sumbersari, Jember, revealed that the children's fine motor development had not yet reached an optimal level. This was indicated by difficulties in cutting according to patterns, folding, weaving, and coloring neatly. This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the Hunt the Treasure game on children's fine motor development. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The study involved 31 children, consisting of Group B3 as the control group and Group B4 as the experimental group. The experimental group received treatment through the Hunt the Treasure game in three sessions, while the control group participated in regular classroom activities. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests using indicators that included hand coordination, hand flexibility, tool-use skills, and finger dexterity. The data were analyzed using homogeneity tests, normality tests, and the Independent Samples t-Test with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the data were homogeneous (Sig. 0.290 > 0.05) and normally distributed (Sig. of the experimental group 0.473; control group 0.190 > 0.05). The hypothesis testing results indicated a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, demonstrating that the Hunt the Treasure game had a significant effect on children's fine motor development. The average post-test score of the experimental group (15) was higher than that of the control group (9). Therefore, the Hunt the Treasure game was proven to be effective in improving the fine motor development of early childhood learners.
