Pemberdayaan Keluarga Desa melalui Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup Sejak Dini di Wilayah Ekowisata Kalijompo Jember

Abstract

Family empowerment is an important strategy for building community environmental awareness, particulary in the Kalijompo Ecotourism Area, Jember Regency, where village families serve both as small business operators and as the first educators of their children. Although waste management activities have been carried out by the local community, plastic waste and food scraps are still found scattered in several spots of the area, while early environmental education within families remains informal and unstructured. The purpose of this research is to describe family empowerment through early environmental education in the Kalijompo Ecotourism Area, Jember Regency. This research is expected to contribute as a reference, additional literature, and a basic foundation for ecotourism managers, village families, policy makers, and future researchers. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is in accordance with the Miles and Huberman model, which include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity techniques used include extension of participation, persistence of observation and triangulation ( triangulation of sources, techniques, and time). The result of this study show that family empowerment in the Kalijompo Ecotourism Area covers three aspects, namely intrapersonal, interpersonal, behavioral. And early environmental education for children also covers cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects developed through informal education within the family. Overall, it can be concluded that family empowerment through early environmental education in the Kalijompo Ecotourism Area has taken place informally through the active role of managers, the community, and families, although a more structured program is still needed, particulary one targeting children, so that ecological awareness can be built sustainably.
