Abstract
This research was motivated by the literacy skills of Group B children at
Amelia Kindergarten, Jember, which had not developed optimally. One effort that
can be made to stimulate children’s literacy skills is through the use of interactive
learning media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the
interactive media Learn Cheerful Letters on the literacy skills of Group B children
at Amelia Kindergarten, Jember. This study used a quantitative approach with a
pre-experimental research type and employed a One Group Pretest-Posttest
Design. The population and sample in this study consisted of all Group B children
at Amelia Kindergarten, Jember, totaling 14 children, using a saturated sampling
technique. Data collection techniques used tests in the form of Children’s
Worksheets (LKA). The data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test
and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test hypothesis test with the assistance of the IBM
SPSS Statistics program. The results showed that the average pretest and posttest
scores increased after the treatment was administered. The hypothesis test results
using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test obtained an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value of
0.011 < 0.05, so H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded
that there is a significant effect of the use of the interactive media Learn Cheerful
Letters on the literacy skills of Group B children at Amelia Kindergarten, Jember.
The interactive media Learn Cheerful Letters is effective in helping improve
children's abilities to distinguish letters, group pictures with the same initial letter,
match pictures with words, and write.
