Pengembangan Media Pop-Up Book Berbasis Budaya Lokal Lumajang Pada Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila Materi Kekayaan Suku Bangsaku untuk Peserta Didik Kelas III SD

Abstract

This study is motivated by the fact that current learning practices in Pancasila Education still rely heavily on textbooks, and the teaching process is predominantly conducted using the lecture method. This condition makes learning less engaging, leads to boredom, and causes difficulties for students in understanding the material. Therefore, it is necessary to implement learning through the use of engaging media to increase students’ interest and reduce boredom during the learning process. This study aims to develop a Lumajang Local Culture-Based Pop-Up Book media and to analyze its validity, effectiveness, and practicality in the topic of “The Diversity of My Ethnic Groups” in Pancasila Education for third-grade students at SDN Yosowilangun Kidul 01 Lumajang. This research employs a development research design based on the Borg and Gall model through eight stages. The developed media is evaluated in terms of its validity, effectiveness, and practicality. The validation results show a score of 97,08, which falls into the “highly valid” category. The effectiveness test yields a t-count value of 2,792, which is greater than the t-table value of 2,018, indicating a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes. The relative effectiveness test shows a result of 56%, categorized as medium. The practicality test, conducted through student response questionnaires, obtains a score of 98,18, categorized as highly practical. Based on the results of the tests conducted, it can be concluded that the Lumajang Local Culture-Based Pop-Up Book media is valid, effective, and practical for use in learning.
