| dc.description.abstract | This research explores the territorial behavior and movement patterns of domestic cats in the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Jember, using spatial analysis methods. The objective is to map cat territorial areas and identify activity hotspots through Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GPS tracking technology. The research method involves collecting GPS data from two adult cats (male and female) tracked over seven days. Data were cleaned to remove noise, then analyzed to determine maximum roaming distances, territorial polygons, visit frequencies using heatmaps. Results show that the female cat had a maximum range of 189.35 meters and preferred areas near parking lots, while the male cat roamed 178.86 meters and frequently visited areas near the library. This research highlights the value of spatial data in understanding animal ecology in urban environments and offers a foundation for managing animal populations in campus ecosystems. | |
