Karakteristik Biofisik Sub DAS Rembangan Kabupaten Jember

Abstract

The Rembangan Sub-watershed is an important water catchment area in the upstream Bedadung Watershed, playing a vital role in maintaining hydrological balance and supporting agricultural activities downstream. This study examines the biophysical characteristics of the Rembangan Sub-watershed, including morphometry, morphology, and climatology. The morphometric analysis reveals an area of 2661.3 ha with an elongated shape, comprising 3 river orders, and a drainage density of 2.61 km/km², indicating a relatively dense drainage network. The morphological characteristics are dominated by Typic Dystrudepts (1074,16) soils, steep and flat slopes, the elevations dominated by >700 masl (1225 ha), and forest land cover (1063.54 ha) as the dominant land use, followed by shrubs (714.64 ha), agricultural land (507.38 ha), and settlements (375.72 ha). Klimatological data show annual rainfall of 2982 mm and an average temperature of 22,5˚C with a very wet climate type (B, Schmidt-Ferguson; C2, Oldeman). The results of this study can serve as a reference for water resource management, land evaluation, land use planning, and disaster mitigation in the Rembangan Sub-watershed, ultimately contributing to sustainable development and environmental conservation in the region.
