Strict competition in the global era insists that the university graduates possess competences in their respective discipline and mastery of English. To facilitate students’ mastery of English, English medium instruction (EMI) for content-subjects in Non-English Departments might be an alternative solution. EMI is better implemented in a continuum, depending on the readiness of human resources. In the beginning, EMI might be implemented partially, i.e. by using English and Indonesian in the teachinglearning process. Besides, assigning students to read the topics from chapters of textbooks or journals written in English, to write annotated bibliography and paper is some possible alternatives to be chosen. As the content-subject lecturers gain confident in using English, they can use English as more frequently or totally in teaching-learning process.en_US
