Abstract
The level of science literacy among students in Indonesia remains low, as evidenced by the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) report by the OECD, in which Indonesia's science literacy score fell by 13 points compared to the 2018 PISA results. This condition shows that students do not yet have adequate skills to face the demands of the times, while science literacy skills are essential for them to adapt and play an active role in modern life. One of the factors contributing to this low achievement is that science learning practices are still dominated by traditional methods, so learning innovation is needed, for example through the development of Google Teachable Machine-based e-modules. This study focuses on assessing the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of these e-modules using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the ADDIE model, and a one-group pretest–posttest design. The results revealed that the developed e-module obtained an average validity of 93.82% (highly valid), practicality of 97.55% (highly practical), and effectiveness with an N-gain value of 0.64 (moderate category). a significant difference in pretest and posttest scores based on a paired t-test (p < 0.001), and student responses of 88.16% (very positive). The main innovation of this study lies in the use of Google Teachable Machine in e-modules to improve students' science literacy, which enables more interactive and contextual learning through the support of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
