The potential of stem cells is very promising for the treatment of various diseases raises new hope in the treatment of diseases, especially refractory conservatively as periodontitis. Stem cells from peripheral blood (peripheral blood mesenchymal stem cells/PB-MSCs) were reported to have the ability to multi differentiation because they contain a lot of multipotent progenitor cells. PB-MSCs ability to migrate stricken injury for their chemotactic receptor such as CXCR4 and SDF-1 resulting in homing, proliferation and differentiation into cells corresponding to the environment. STRO-1 is a marker located on the cell surface PB-MSCs showed these cells have the potential for differentiation into osteogenic cells that play a role in the treatment of periodontal disease. The purpose of this review to provide an overview of PB-MSCs and their potential use in periodontal regeneration.en_US
