| dc.description.abstract | Scabies is still become one of the primary skin disease of students of Nurul Qarnain Islamic
boarding schools, Baletbaru Sukowono Jember. This disease disrupts the learning process led
to reduced productivity of students. Factorsthat affect disease progression arelack of
sanitation and personal hygiene. Environmental and hygiene facilities of Nurul Qarnain
Islamic Boarding Schoolhave been very adequate so that the main role of the factors that
causingthe disease is bad personal hygiene because of lack of knowledge about this disease,
as well as slowly and appropriately treatment. One of the essential thing for the prevention
and treatment of this desease is sulfur soap. This soap is expensive for students, so they don't
buy this kind of soap. So it is necessary to give training in the sulfur soap-making technique.
The methods were detect and record number of students with scabies, train of making an
antiskabies sulfur soap, alsoselect and coach some students(cadre) of early handling of
skabies patients. A whole series of activities implemented in August-October 2016. The
results showed 151 students suffer from skabies (13,48%), with prevalence of complications
as much as 72 students (47,68%). Own-made scabies soaps are as effective as factory-made
and have no side effects. A number of students suffering from scabies very much reduced and
left as many as 15 students. | en_US |
