dc.description.abstractBACKGROUND: Geology, hydrology, land allotment, and social fact in plantation area cause the plantation area especially in Panti get slide and flood easily. From the data in BPS jember, a big flood happened in January 2 nd , 2006 caused 76 people died, 15 people missing, 1900 people evacuated and 36 houses lost, 2400 houses damage, 6 bridges damage and 140 hectare of field damage. Some things that can be done to overcome the disaster in pre-disaster phase are to avoid, to mitigate, and to stay alert. The goal of this research is to get effect of BLS training in the disaster alert in Panti Jember METHODE: This research used pre-experiment research with one-group pretest-posttest. The society population in this research is the people in Panti that consist of three villages; they are Kemiri, Suci and Pakis. The samples were taken by using proportional random sampling technique with 90 respondents taken. The data analysis used was wilcoxon. RESULT: The statistical result showed that there was a significant effect on BLS (Basic life support) training given towards the disaster alert (p value = 0.00). CONCLUSION: The improvement of the effort in disaster allert is needed by giving BLS training to the society.en_US
