ALIH FUNGSI LAHAN PERTANIAN DAN KEBUTUHAN PANGAN DI KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
Paddy land conversion to non-farm in Jember raises concerns about the threat to food security,
this happen because Jember is one of the largest rice producer in the province of East Java. The
research method is used in this research is descriptive, analytic and correlational. Paddy land
in Jember for Years 2005-2013 decreased the extent of the average area of land per year
amounted to 81,86 ha/year, while the need for land for housing, facilities and services,
industrial increased by 72,90 ha/year Ha, 12,10 ha/year and 4,46 ha/year. The conversion of
agricultural land (paddy) in Jember district over a period of years from 2006 to 2013 caused a
reduction in rice production by 4.593,09 kw with the rate of reduction of production by 31,92%.
In the coming period for the rice needs of the community in Jember district average estimated at
8.368.010 kw with the broad needs of the harvest area average at 519.118 Ha.
