dc.description.abstract | This research was motivated by low student's critical thinking ability and
student learning outcomes is sufficient in fourth grade SDN Jatisari 02 Jember. The
problem this research is how the application of problem-based learning model can
increase critical thinking ability and student learning outcomes of fourth grade of social
studies subject on social problems in SDN Jatisari 02 Jember. This research was
conducted to increase critical thinking ability, and learning outcomes of fourth grade
students through the application of problem-based learning model in social studies
subject on social problems at SDN Jatisari 02 Jember school year 2014/2015. The type
of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is conducted in two cycles.
Data analysis that is used is descriptive. Research was conducted at SDN Jatisari 02
Jember. Subjects of this research were the fourth grade students at SDN Jatisari 02
Jember consisting of 34 students. Data collection techniques of this research include
interview, observation, test, and documentation. Based on the observation of students'
critical thinking skills in the classical style on a pre cycle was 54,56%, increased to
68,82% in the first cycle, and increased to 82,79% in the second cycle. The test results
of students' critical thinking in the first cycle was 75,67% increased to 85,29% in the
second cycle. Based on the results of the study also note that through the application of
problem -based learning model, student learning outcomes increased from 61,76 in precycle
into 77,17 in the first cycle and the second cycle increased into 84,94. Based on
the description above, it can be concluded that the application of problem-based
learning model in social studies on social problems can increase critical thinking ability
and learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 02 Jatisari Jember. | en_US |
