Pengaruh Diet Minyak Jagung dan Minyak Ikan Terhadap Ekspresi Osteoklas Periapikal Gigi pada Tikus

Abstract

The aim of this old was to know the effect of fish oil and corn oil to dental periapical osteoclast expression. Sixty 3 mont old Wistar male albino rats, were divided into fourt group, of which the firts group was not given either fish or corn oil. The second group was given fish oil orally (1 ml/day). The third group was given corn oil orlly (1ml/days) and the fourth group who given both fish and corn oil orally (1:1) (1 ml/day). After administration for 40 days, all of the rats werw treated with pulp exposure of the first molar of maxillary to stimulate the infection on periapicals. Osteoclast expressions were examined as the number of osteoclast and preosteoclasts after specimens were terated with TRAP sataining. The result shows that osteoclast expression was lower in rats that had been administrated fish oil than in the groups that had been given corn oil or neither fish cornoil (p<0,05). It can be concluded that of fish oil rich in to omega-3 PUFA in inhibit osteoclast growth compared to diet corn oil rich in omega-6 PUFA.
