dc.description.abstract | Indonesia is a country rich in natural disaster. Drought, floods, landslides, cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, forest fires, a "wealth" of natural disasters experienced whenever this beautiful country. So many and variety of natural disasters in Indonesia, some scientists say that Indonesia is a "laboratory" disaster, while the people prefer to call "supermarket" disaster. The reality of natural disasters in this country is a necessity. In the old paradigm of disaster management, the measures taken more focus on post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction. But in the new paradigm, disaster management is more focused on preventive measures. Here the disaster mitigation management becomes very important. This study aims to determine the management practices in various areas of disaster mitigation disaster involving community participation in implementing transformative education undertaken by various parties, both the people themeselves and the government. In addition, to identify and describe the differences in public response to the implementation of transformative education in disaster mitigation and management of disaster itself. The method emphasizes constructivist used with reference to a qualitative approach. The result were not all the people in the disaster area have the same response to "destiny" that must be accepted willingly. Implementation of disaster management transformative education is less effective because it is not based on systematic learning structure. The recommendation given is the need to learn the systematic management of disaster mitigation as an early preventive efforts through transformative education curriculum adequate disaster. | en_US |
