dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to assess the level of independence of the region in the implementation of regional autonomy in Jember after active enacted in 2001. The method of analysis used is the comparative analysis that compares the respective economic indicators that support after the implementation of regional autonomy with prior to the implementation of regional autonomy. In this study, which examined economic indicators such as level of independence of the visible area of Routine Capabilities Index (IKR) and Tax Effort. Furthermore, to determine the performance of the economy significantly different (significan) or not significantly different (non significan), used statistical test is the t-test. With the criteria testing α = 5%, the ratio of the probability of significant if> 0.05 (H0 is rejected), if <0.05 (H1 accepted). Based on the analysis, for the level of independence of the visible area of Routine Capabilities Index (IKR) showed a decline after regional autonomy, while the Tax Effort showed increased after decentralization. For economic performance and the level of independence of the Regional Tax Effort showed an increase after the implementation of regional autonomy than before the implementation of regional autonomy (H0 rejected H1 accepted)en_US
