dc.description.abstract | Social development is a person's capability as a child up to adulthood to adapt within
the environment which shows a child's social competence and their ability to be
independent. Parenting has a significant relation towards a child's socializing
capability. The aim of this research is to understand the differences of levels of social
development among children with a democratic and authoritative parenting in
Sumber Ketempa 02 State Elementary School, Sub-district Kalisat, Jember Regency.
The type of research would be in the form of analytic survey with a cross sectional
approach. Data retrieval the proportionate stratified random sampling, which is
through 43 respondent has be identified into two groups of parenting; democratic
parenting and authoritative parenting. The distribution of social development among
those with authoritative parenting is less than 7 people (50%), level of social
development among those with democratic parenting category is 14 people (48.3%).
Data analysis using the Chi-Square results in a P value(0,033 < 0,05), the conclusion
is there is a difference between social development among children with democratic
parenting and authoritative parenting in Sumber Ketempa 02 State Elementary
School, Sub-district Kalisat, Jember Regency. Parents are expected to apply
democratic parenting in accordance with a child's characteristics in order for a child
to reach a good social development. | en_US |
