dc.description.abstract | Tuberculosis is one of the world's leading causes of illness and death. Two million
people die each year and three-quarters of cases are among men and women between
the ages of 15 and 59, the most productive age group. Tuberculosis spells wreck and
ruin not only to individuals and families, but also to societies and nations, seriously
affecting work productivity, family cohesiveness and greatly weakening national
incomes. This study aims to analyze the determine that correlated with tuberculosis in
the worker.This research is an observational analytic study with quantitative
approach. Based on the period of conduct, this research is a case control study. The
variabel studied were the work place: ventilationtion, time of work, lighting, and job
history; the contact history in work place and in the house; environmental health of
house: ventilation, home temperature, lighting, humidity and habitance density. Data
were collected using a questionnaire and observation sheets with sample 52 worker,
13 are the case sample, and 39 are the control sample. Based on the statistical
analysis logistic regresion with provision of α (0,05), performed that 2 factors of
environmental health of house including: home ventilation (p= 0,013, OR= 0,022)
and home temperature (p= 0,016 , OR= 0,061) are protective factor of tuberkulosis
in the worker. While another variabel is not significant with tuberculosis in the
worker. Based on the facts that influenced tuberculosis above, it is suggusted for the
related departement to socialize more and regulate the preventive program of
tuberculosis in the work place so that all of the elements such as work place, stake
folders, worker/labour organization and all of the society are able to work together
to solf this problem in the work place. | en_US |
