The present research has been undertaken with the aim to develop a topical gel formulation of Meloxicam using different gelling agent Carbopol, Na CMC, and HPMC, which would avoid to side effects with oral administration. They were evaluated for physicochemical properties such as organoleptic, viscosity, pH, Spreadability, homogeneity and, in vitro drug release. The in vitro drug release rate of gel was evaluated using apparatus disolution containing cellophane membrane with phosphate buffer saline pH 7,4 ± 0,05 as the receptor medium. Studies showed that drug release was decrease with viscosity increases.en_US
