dc.description.abstractPT.X is a manufacturing company specializing in the field of manufacture of boiler which has a working equipment and material that has a high level risk of fires as LPG. Secondary data indicates PT.X have four LPG storage tank. The use of LPG for the production process at PT.X as much as 168.435 kg in 2011. This research study about identification of the hazards of fire and explosion so that losses can be prevented and minimized. Method of this research is descriptive quantitative using Dow’s Fire and Explosion Index because this method can quantitatively assess how bigger the danger and loss that suffer by the company in case of fire or explosion in the LPG storage tank. The research result is that the LPG storage tank process unit at the level of the most severe safety hazards (severe) with radius of exposure are 43,01 m and the area of exposure are 5808,56 m². Beside that the value of the area of exposure are Rp 784.155.600.000,00, damage factor are 0,82917, base maximum probable property damage are Rp 650.198.298.900,00, loss control credit factor are 0,5 and actual maximum probable property damage are Rp 325.099.149.500,00. Advice given is to do the risk assessment prior to selection of the location of a unit to the location of units of distance considerations tailored to the level of danger, the addition of fire protection at the site of LPG storage tanks, and if possible do more research on the analysis of potential fire and explosion at LPG storage tank..en_US
