dc.description.abstractThe number of work accidents in Indonesia based on data from International Labour Organizations (ILO) in 2007 was ranked 52 of the 53 countries in the world listed in the ILO. The cases of occupational injuries cause the level of severity. In order to reduce the severity of accidents within the company, which is only way with the presence of P3K in the workplace in accordance with existing guidelines. This study purpose is to analyze the relationship between First Aid In Accident (P3K) and the severity of accidents. This research used observational research method with cross sectional research design. The research was conducted on May 10th to June 1st 2012 at PT. Sasa Inti Gending Probolinggo. The number of sample were 50 employees who had had an accident, taken as simple random sampling method and 17 officers of P3K taken as total population. Data were analyzed by spearman correlation test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that there was a significant association between the First Aid In Accident (P3K) with the severity of accidents in the PT. Sasa Inti Gending Probolinggo wih the value ρ = 0.012. According to the result, employees are expected to understand more about the cultural importance of Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace and more sensitive to the bad environmental conditions. Those to prevent the occupational accidents and reducing accident severity.en_US
