HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP ORANG TUA TENTANG PENDIDIKAN SEKS DENGAN TINDAKAN ORANG TUA DALAM PEMBERIAN PENDIDIKAN SEKS PADA REMAJA (Studi di Kecamatan Sumbersari Kabupaten Jember)

Abstract

Sex education is one of important study that can be used as one way to create indonesian social behaviour. Nowdays, parents think that sex is something natural that will be known after marriage, so most of parents have negative behaviour by thinking that sex is something taboo to be discussed. The high rate of sexual harassement toward adolescent happened in Sumbersari district is caused by parents who do not give sex education to their adolescent. This research aims to know the relationship between knowledge and parents behaviour about sex education with Parents act in giving sex education to teenager. This research uses quantitative method by cross sectional design in Sumbersary District. The Subjects of this research are parents who have adolescent in the age 11 to 19 year old. Data collection method used is questioner to 67 respondents and Chi Square test was used to analize data. The result of this research shows that most of parents have average knowledge abot sex education, they also have negative attitude toward sex education and they do not give sex education to their adolescent. There is a relation between parents knowledge and the parents act in giving sex education to adolescent (p=0.000) and there is a relation between parents act in giving sex education to adolescent (p=0.000). Based on this research, parents are expected to increase their knowledge about sex education, have a positive attitude toward sex education and give sex education to adolescent based on their age.
