Coal dust is material that formed coal powder, which is derived from the crushing of coal when it occurred processing (breaking, blending, transporting, weathering). The effect of coal dust is not good for health especially for workers in dusty areas. Therefore, if the workers was not given with respiratory protective equipment will result in more fatal to their health. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of coal dust exposure on lung physiology disturbance of contract workers of coal handling section at PT PJB development unit paiton. This research was analytical-observational by cross sectional approach. The population in the research was all contract workerswho worked in the coal handling section and the sample size was 51 respondents. Logistic Regression test was used to identify the effect of coal dust exposure on lung phisyology disturbance, that was supported by SPSS version 11.5. Statistical analysis showed that there was no effect of coal dust exposure on lung physiology (p=0,558). Based on the research result, it was suggested for companies to conduct routine health test at least once a year, providing a suitable mask for dusty regions of a mask made of filter material, and for workers should perform regular sports activities to keep the lung physiology to stay well.
