dc.description.abstract | Over the last four years, Jember became the largest contributor to maternal deaths in the province of East Java. Maternal deaths in Jember had been recorded with the publication of the health profile of Jember in mid- year. To formulate policies related to efforts to reduce maternal mortality in Jember , assessment of the determinants proxy of maternal mortality by maternal status was done in Jember necessary as a basis for planning health programs reducing maternal mortality to achieve the MDG 's 2015. This study uses descriptive research by reviewing documentation of health profiles Jember Health Office began in 2007-2011 and accompanied triangulation on the Jember Health department. The result for the year 2007 to 2011, The cumulative number of maternal deaths in Jember many as 236 cases. Maternal status of a group of mothers to be the highest contributor to maternal mortality rate of 96 cases , followed by postpartum maternal deaths in the group with 82 cases and 58 cases of pregnant women. Determinants of maternal mortality based on the proxy status is more due to childbirth bleeding, eclampsia, abortion and uterine repture 4 where T is the intermediary of all the proxy determinants. Too young, too old, too often and too close to giving birth. It takes an innovative health programs to communities in providing an understanding of the importance of maintaining good health of the mother during pregnancy, childbirth or in the postpartum period in which the understanding of not only the duties and responsibilities of private capital but it is the responsibility of the entire family. | en_US |
